Very good performance/price ratio  |

Simple packaging, the basic programs included (PowerDVD & MyDVD) and 2 empty DVDs, screws and an analog audio cable. Dont expect any detailed manuals but thats ok. No EIDE cables included so be sure to have a spare one. Installation is fairy easy and Ive burned quite a few DVDs so far. No problems at all. Oh, it is very quiet too! I suggest it as a very good purchace, youll not regret it.

Initial problems now overcome  |

After 8 coasters I finally found out what the problem was with the set up on my DVD writer. Try turning off DMA for the drive in the Device Manager. I also Updated the firmware on the drive to the latest version (details can be found on the BTC website). I am now happily burning away with the cheap, multi format drive. Give ShrinkDVD a try. It is an excellant authoring and compression software. Really great for backing up your original DVDs!

I treated myself to one of these at christmas 2003 and it was the best buy i made. I didnt use the bundled software as i was upgrading from a CD-RW drive. Runs perfectly fine on Windows 2000 Pro and on my quite low spec compa must buy!
